Avatier Warns Security Managers to Examine Resource Continuity and Automation

Avatier, the leader in identity and access management (IAM), is warning corporate security executives to consider resource continuity and automation capabilities or run the risk of even more security breaches in 2015. In his recent blog “Continuity and Automation Stop an IT Security Saga,” Ryan Ward, CISO of Avatier, stresses that along with other risk-related initiatives throughout an organization, corporations need to pay attention to these two areas.

“If IT security duties and other critical business resources are not spread across multiple resources, you could have a significant single-point-of-failure in your organization,” Ward notes. “Many organizations do have formalized processes in place for planned absences like vacations, but these processes typically fail during unexpected absences that happen all the time. Making sure your critical information security tasks have coverage in any situation helps avoid high-risk situations. It’s something many companies just don’t pay attention to.”
