Centrify Wants To Bring Identity Management To Hadoop

Big data is an attention-grabbing term in the technology space. So if you’re a vendor looking to gain some attention, usurping the term “big data” for your own solution is a no-brainer, regardless of whether the term is appropriate or not.

Which brings us to an announcement today from identity management vendor Centrify. Centrify offers Single Sign On, multi-factor authentication and compliance auditing for enterprises – they’re one of a series of startups in a similar space – Okta, OneLogin and Ping Identity being some others. And while the space has received lots of venture funding to date, it has also seen developments for larger platform players such as Microsoft MSFT -0.1% and Salesforce. This pressure from above sees the smaller vendors having to try alternative angles.
