Courion, a leading provider of intelligent identity and access management solutions, today announced that Geisinger Health System, the nation’s largest rural health services organization, has begun deployment of Courion solutions to automate manual provisioning tasks, improve access certification capabilities and manage and reduce risk.

The health system and health plan, known for its innovative use of electronic health records and for its service quality, needed to reduce the manpower requirements of on-boarding new employees as its network of care providers continues to grow. The IT department for the physician-led system, which has more than 20,800 employees, wanted to automate provisioning tasks associated with commonly-used software solutions such as the electronic health record solution EPIC, the medical image and information management system Phillips ISite PACS, and the AMISYS Advance payer software system.
