Identity Experts Head International Case Studies Track at Cloud Identity Summit 2012

Ping Identity®, The Cloud Identity Security Leader™, today announced details of its international cloud identity case studies track. Nat Sakimura, chairman, OpenID Foundation, will moderate the 90-minute track starting at 11 a.m. MT on Thursday, July 19 at the 2012 Cloud Identity Summit. Taking place at Vail, Colorado’s Cascade Resort, the summit explores the role of identity as the new perimeter and examines ways cloud computing, mobile device access and social networking are transforming business and IT.

The international case studies track includes:

Connecting Universities to the Private Sector through Trust Frameworks
Kazu Yamaji, associate professor, National Institute of Informatics, Japan
The Japanese academic access federation, GakuNin, is deploying federated identify in Japan using the SAML 2.0 standard, primarily with Shibboleth software. To accelerate its activity, federation focuses on the additional handshake model with OpenID beyond just operating within the SAML protocol. As part of this new collaboration, OpenID Federation Japan (OIDFJ) and GakuNin members have begun to launch a student identity trust framework (SITF).
