Redirect email notifications to a File in Dell Identity Manager(DIdM)  formerly Quest One Identity Manager (Q1IM)

As a developer sometimes it might be easy to redirect the notification to an email for unit testing before move to a test environment to for the User Acceptance Testing with real email notification to the users.

To redirect email to a file in Dell Identity Manager you can use the DebugMailPlugin.

The DebugMailPlugin if enabled will email notifications generated by the Identity Manager Service are not send but are kept in a drop folder. The file names contain the time stamp in this case. If a mail contains HTML text, a HTML file with the HTML body is saved that has the same name as the text file to be created.
Attachments are also saved in this way.

To enable the the redirect to a file in Dell Identity Manager formerly Quest One Identity Manager thru the DebugMailPluin you need to execute the following steps:

1.Run the Job Service Configuration Program

2.Go to the Plugins and select Insert

3.Select the DebugMailPluin

4.Configure the Drop Folder

5.Execute Q1IM Process to send an email and validate the email is dropped in the specified location.
