Along with federation technologies and mobile computing, social identity adoption will have a major impact on the practice of identity and access management (IAM) in 2013 and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor an increasing number of Internet users, social networks are the Internet. Using \u2018login with Facebook\u2019 \u2014 or other popular social networks \u2014 reduces friction and therefore improves users&#8217; experience of customer registration and subsequent login,\u201d said Ant Allan, research vice president at Gartner. \u201cFor registration, the required personal information can be imported from users&#8217; social profiles, reducing \u2014 if not eliminating \u2014 form filling.
