Dell Identity Manager repairing duplicate alternate keys using “vi_RepairDuplicateAlternateKey” for Active Directory<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are working with Dell Identity Manager 6.x (current version is Dell Identity Manager 6.1.2) and configure your Active Directory, you can enable a synchronization process between AD & Dell Identity Manager.<\/p>\n

Sometimes when you run a Synchronization process, you might run with an error that generates the AD Synch to fail.<\/p>\n

Error:<\/strong><\/p>\n

“The synchronization was cancelled because of data inconsistency in the target system ADS. Run the SQL procedure “vi_RepairDuplicateAlternateKey” for data revision.<\/em>”

Dell Identity Manager provides the stored procedure “vi_RepairDuplicateAlternateKey” to find and delete duplicate entries. You can use the tool in the following way:<\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> Open the Dell Identity Manager Object Browser ( ObjectBrowser )<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> Execute the following command:<\/p>\n

Exec vi_RepairDuplicateAlternateKey ‘ADS’, ‘Log’<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

3.<\/strong> Analyze the data and review the duplicates<\/p>\n

4.<\/strong> Run the following command to repair the data<\/p>\n

Exec vi_RepairDuplicateAlternateKey ‘ADS’, ‘Repair’<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This stored procedure can be used with other target system.The function Signature is :<\/p>\n

vi_RepairDuplicateAlternateKey (@namespace NVARCHAR(64)=N’ALL’,@Mode NVARCHAR(16)=N’LOG’)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Where the allowed values for the parameters are:<\/p>\n

@Namespace<\/strong> expects one of the following values:<\/p>\n

– ADS
\n– Ex2010
\n– Ex2k
\n– LDAP
\n– Notes
\n– SharePoint<\/p>\n
