Delinea Create Secret for Active Directory
A Delinea Secret is any sensitive credential (password, key, token, or certificate) managed securely in the Secret Server vault, with policies, rotation, and auditing in place to protect against misuse.
Think of a secret as the “unit” of privileged access being secured. It can be:
- Passwords – for domain admins, local accounts, service accounts
- SSH keys – used for Linux/Unix or network device access
- API keys/tokens – used by applications or integrations
- Database credentials – SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, etc.
- Certificates or TLS private keys – used for encryption and trust
- Application secrets – configs or embedded credentials in scripts
Below are screenshots for an Active Directory Delinea Secret creation.
