Sailpoint IdentityIQ – Configure Email Settings-Redirect to Email

Sailpoint IdentityIQ sends emails to users in response to a different events, you can configure the IdentityIQ with 3 different email settings options:

  1. Redirect to File
  2. Redirect to Email
  3. SMTP

On this post we will show you how to configure the Redirect to Email. The Redirect to Email sends the email messages through the specified SMTP server but routes them all to a specified email address instead of delivering them to the email address recorded for the target identity.

IdentityIQ setting Redirect To Email is recommended to use during your Functional or User Acceptance Test (UAT) testing cycles.

  1. Go to your IdentityIQ installation, login and click to the top right gear and select Global Settings.

2. Click IdentityIQ Configurations.

3. Click Mail Settings. In this screen select the Redirect To Email as email notification type. Complete the values for email address, default email address, username and password.

4. Scrolldown and Save the changes.

Requests, both pending and complete, can be viewed through IdentityIQ UI page at URL: hhtp://your_identityiq_server/monitor/requests/requests.jsf.

  • Use this page to identify problems if the expected email messages are not generated.
  • The first retry for a failed email request occurs one hour after the initial send attempt.
  • Successful emails are deleted from the request list immediately when they are sent.

IdentityIQ Console (iiq console) includes a command to clear (delete) all pending emails from the email queue called clearEmailQueue.
